Some Fox affils might not rerun Emmycast

The Jane Lynch-located Emmys will not obtain a second airing in certain marketplaces. A minimum of two Fox affiliate marketers about the West Coast have made the decision against re-running the Emmy Honours telecast in primetime on Sept. 18. The network often see a dent or dimple within the telecast's primetime rankings if stations in substantial marketplaces run local programming rather. But per their contract with Fox, affils decide if you should run the Emmys again following the telecast airs live across the nation at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.NBC saw the majority of its West Coast affiliate marketers rebroadcast the Emmys this past year, the very first time the Emmys did not air via tape delay about the West Coast. But most Fox affils run local news at 10 p.m. If West Coast stations were to rebroadcast the 3-hour Emmys at 8 p.m., this news could be pressed to 11 o'clock or later, when the kudocast runs lengthy. Fox-affiliated stations in North Park and Bay Area, neither which are O&Os, confirmed they will not re-air Emmys in primetime. At KTVU-TV within the San Francisco Bay Area, program manager Eric Casella was reluctant about moving the ten o'clock news to 11 p.m. and upsetting local auds. "We did not wish to disrupt our viewers' schedule," Casella stated.North Park affiliate KSWB-TV was planning to provide a local newscast at 8 p.m. after which opt for two hrs of "Family Guy" and "American Father" repeats. KTVU intends to air local program "Malou Review" at 8 o'clock, then a chapter of "Seinfeld" and "House" prior to the 10 p.m. news.Fox can't pressure its affiliate marketers to air the rebroadcast because its contracts together dictate the network must hand back for them how long they take with something similar to the Emmys. The stations will also get to maintain all ad revenue based on that award for period. What affiliate marketers canrrrt do is cut from the Emmy telecast at 10 p.m. to create room for local news. Whether station airs the kudocast completely or otherwise whatsoever. This past year, most West Coast NBC affils decided to the rebroadcast, except for Dallas and Tigard. While NBC saw strong rankings in marketplaces like New You are able to in which the event broadcast reside in primetime, audience levels in West Coast marketplaces lagged behind because HUT levels are considerably reduced the mid-day. This Years Emmy rankings exceeded the year before only by calculating a cumed rating of unduplicated audiences, which totaled 13.50 million. However, considering the fact that the Emmys are airing three days after this past year, at any given time when a lot more audiences are watching the National football league, Fox often see better sampling at 5 p.m. PT.Generating primetime is not entirely new notion at Fox because of the network's West Coast stations are frequently playing airtime to fill when there's only one NFC game throughout football season, a period when some affils want to run reruns of "The Simpsons."Fox affils within the Mountain and Central timezones aren't affected.
